Sitting on the westernmost border of Europe, Portugal is a small country that boasts a fascinating, rich history in addition to a celebrated culture. However, behind the scenes are some of the roughest neighborhoods one can find anywhere in Europe. This film takes a look at the population of Portugal that more often than not gets overlooked, the poor and the homeless. Living in what is known as favelas, or slums, these unfortunate people of Portugal are struggling every day in order to make ends meet. With the country already in a deep recession, the government finds no time to take care of it's people in need.
