Watch Dr. Akagi

Dr. Akagi is a comedy drama taking place toward the end of the WW2 in Japan. As the country is losing the war and everyone is aware that the end is near, an old fashion doctor is working in a small fishing community. He gives the same diagnosis to every patients he treats telling them they have hepatitis. So the doctor decides to find a cure for the disease.

In everyday duties, he is helped around by a young prostitute who, against the doctor’s advice, still insists in continuing with her profession. But his fanatic obsession of find a cure brings him up against the Japanese military.
