Sugihara is a loner. Although he is Korean, his birthplace is Japan. Growing up people teased him endlessly or just plain ignored him just because of it. As he becomes an adult Sugihara still struggles with his ethnicity. He tries to accept who he is and create his own happy family. Sugihara wants to ensure that his children do not face the struggles he had growing up.
