The Godfather is a classic American gangster movie adapted from Mario Puzo's novel, The Godfather. The movie is based on the Corleone family and is set in both America and Italy. It is both a pinnacle gangster movie and a rite of age for Don Vito's son Michael Corleone who must step into power, amidst a war, when his father is shot by rivals.
