My Afternoons with Margueritte tells the heartwarming tale of a man overcoming his lifelong ridicule and the reason for his low self-esteem, with the help of a caring lady. Germaine, is a middle-aged man who is doing his absolute best to get through life despite his illiteracy. Germaine was tortured his entire childhood both due to his inability to read at an acceptable level, and at home by his mother, who constantly reminds him that he was an unwanted pregnancy. One day while sitting on a park bench, Germaine meets the 95 year old Marguerrite, a sweet lady who has been feeding the same pigeons as Germaine. They develop a deep bond, and due to her ion for literature, Marguerrite promises to teach Germaine to read.
