Watch The Holy Girl

The Holy Girl is a 2004 Argentinian drama. Lucrecia Martel directed the film, and Pedro Almodovar was executive director. The film features a large cast that includes Mercedes Moran, Maria Alche and Carlos Belloso to name a few. The story is set in the small town of La Cienaga at a dilapidated hotel called the Hotel Termas. The film explores the tension and relationship between sexuality and religion. Two teenage girls named Amalia and Josefina begin exploring their newfound sexuality and sexual impulses. At the same time, in Amalia’s mind sexual impulses and spiritual desires start to converge. It is a very thought provoking film.
