Watch The Tale of Zatoichi

"The Tale of Zatoichi" (1962) is a Japanese movie that's the first in a series about samurai. The title character is a blind masseur who is also a skilled swordsman. A local gangster hires him because he knows a war is brewing with a rival gang. The other gang's leader hires a swordsman of his own, not knowing that he has tuberculosis. Zatoichi and the other swordsman become friends, despite knowing they must fight.
