The story takes place in a world where several clans, all of which are descendants of the Norse gods, are at war with each other for control of territories. The protagonist of the series is Yuuto Suoh, a high school student from modern-day Japan who gets transported to this alternate world during a field trip.
Once in the new world, Yuuto discovers that he has been summoned as the "Einherjar," a warrior who possesses immense power and is meant to serve as a protector for the girls belonging to the wolf clan. These girls are known as "Wolves," and Yuuto's role is to be their Blesser, someone who helps them awaken their full potential and enhances their combat abilities.
As the story progresses, Yuuto finds himself increasingly involved in the politics and conflicts of the various clans. He quickly realizes that his authority as Einherjar is not absolute and that he needs to navigate the complex social structures of this new world to achieve his goals.
One of Yuuto's primary objectives is to find a way back to his original world. However, he soon realizes that he holds a valuable power in this world and that he might be the key to ending the conflict and bring peace to the world. Yuuto decides to use this opportunity to help his new friends and allies and to end the cycle of violence that has gripped the world for ages.
One of the unique aspects of the series is the inclusion of a harem. As the Blesser, Yuuto has to form contracts with the wolf girls to unlock their powers. As such, he gains the affections of many of them, leading to a classic harem anime storyline. However, the series strives to avoid some of the more distasteful aspects of harem shows, such as excessive fanservice and objectification of the female characters, making it more accessible to a broader audience.
The series features an extensive cast of characters, including multiple wolf girls and representatives of various clans, each with their own unique motivations and agendas. Despite the large number of characters and the fast-paced plot, the show manages to develop them all satisfactorily, giving viewers a reason to care about their fates.
The animation quality of the series is excellent, with beautifully rendered backgrounds and fluidly animated action scenes. The character designs, while typical of an anime, are striking and stand out amidst the lush backgrounds.
The show's soundtrack is also worth mentioning, featuring an epic and emotional original score that compliments the story's themes and tone. The opening and ending themes are infectious and will be stuck in your head long after the series is over.
Overall, The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar is an entertaining and engaging show that combines action, fantasy, and harem elements to create something unique. Though it may not be entirely original, the show manages to tell a compelling story with well-developed characters and fantastic animation. If you are a fan of harem anime with a fantasy twist, this show is definitely worth checking out.
